The main source of kitchen fires

It's hard to believe but the Holiday Season is here once again. Thanksgiving Day is the peak day for home fires in the USA, with a few precautions you can keep your family safe. Be sure to have a properly rated and maintained fire extinguisher in your kitchen area, another useful piece of safety equipment is a fire blanket. A fire blanket is especially useful for fires on top of your stove or cooktop, simply remove it from it's package, lay it over the fire and it will do the rest, no messy fire extinguisher chemicals to clean up afterwards. They're available online and inexpensive compared to the damage caused by a fire. If you plan to deep fry a turkey be extra careful, they can be extreme dangerous. Make sure your fryer is set up a safe distance from any combustible materials and make sure it's complete thawed, a frozen turkey can explode when placed in hot oil!
